I often hear people asking “How much does it cost to adopt a dog?” and I know they are speaking of the actual cost for the dog. The NHS provides specific pricing for all animals for adoption at the shelter on its website. You can find one that travels well, loves to play with your friends’ dogs, has the energy for jogging or long hikes, etc. If you have children under the age of six, you might want to wait before adopting.

Shelters and pet agencies try their best to keep the animals alive and put them in good homes, but sometimes the animals are euthanized; there are just too many homeless pets and not enough loving homes.
