PsiBufet, a Polish pet food company, has begun serving the Slovak market by delivering fresh, customized meals straight to dog owners’ doors, allowing pets to receive nutrition that is prepared specifically for their individual needs.
This direct-to-consumer approach eliminates the need for intermediary retailers, giving customers control over portion size and delivery frequency.
Expansion and Investment
The brand now operates not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic, Italy and its home country of Poland, marking a clear widening of its European footprint.
All meals are produced at the Sam’s Kitchen factory in Zabrze, Poland, which functions as the logistics hub for the broader Butternut Box Group.
In 2023, UK-based Butternut Box purchased PsiBufet, providing the capital necessary to boost both production lines and shipping capacity.
The infusion of funds has allowed the business to enter new territories, including the recently added Slovak region.
Piotr Wawrysiuk, founder of PsiBufet and managing director for Europe, explained that the goal is to reach as many Slovak dog owners as possible with educational material and products, especially those whose pets have not yet experienced fresh meals.
He emphasized that spreading knowledge about nutrition is as important as delivering the food itself.
The company prepares fresh, individually tailored dog food and ships each order directly to the pet’s bowl, ensuring that the product arrives at peak quality.
Its newly built Sam’s Kitchen facility in Zabrze serves as the central hub for fulfilling orders across the region.
Deliveries travel from the Zabrze plant straight to customers in Slovakia, a route that shortens transit time and helps preserve the meals’ freshness.
This logistical setup also supports other European markets that rely on the same hub for efficient service.
By offering fresh, customized meals, the brand is likely to attract owners who are looking for alternatives to conventional dry kibble, potentially influencing buying habits within the Slovak pet-food sector.
Such a shift could encourage more pet parents to consider nutrition-focused options for their dogs.
The company’s success will depend on its ability to compete with established manufacturers and to respond to the changing expectations of pet owners throughout Europe.
